Intro to my lady hustle....
Okay for all my life I have been a natural hustler. From babysitting in elementary school, to selling gum and candy at school, to working multiple regular jobs, to sewing and selling custom items, to opening an online retail stores and please believe there’s more … ya girl has done it all … and I think I forgot to mention ya girl was even an exotic dancer for a while. With that being said, I think I rightfully has earned the right to call myself a hustler. In case you were wondering where I got it from… I get it from my Mama! So with all that hustle in me and all the hustlers I’ve been around.. both legal and not… you’d think I was about to tell you how a became a millionaire right?!?!?!?
Well no can do... why?
Because I haven’t made it there yet.
It’s a very sad but very true reality. Why not you might ask … well we know we all have ups and downs and do overs in life and I’ve had quite a few. After living in my car for a few weeks I made a promise that I would never be broke again. That my friends was a big, fat, gigantic lie. This was when I became an exotic dancer while working and attending school; I was definitely in GO mode. The money came fast and although it was technically easy money, it was hard. IDK about you but walking on stage is frightening to a lot of people let alone walking on stage to strip down to a string and some pasties when you hardly had anything on to begin with. Well as with anything the more you do it, the easier it becomes. It got easier and the money came quicker; but I got lazy. Story of my life. I saw a lot and experienced a lot with that lifestyle and when I quit I wanted to prove to myself that I could make good money, easily without having to show all my goods. I must say .. it’s definitely been a struggle.
I know one of my biggest problems is my lack of consistency and lack of follow through. Well this year, that is all about to change. This year my goal is to stay consistent and keep my integrity to myself by keeping my word and consistently making 10k/month. For some of you it’s a piece of pie but for me it’s but a dream. I rattled off some of the things I’ve tried as hustles so we know that I by no means lack talent, skillset, or drive. I am writing this blog as a way of holding myself accountable.
So how am I gonna get this money?
Honestly I’m not completely sure yet. This is being written the beginning of March of 2022. I have not had a regular full-time job since July of last year, 2021. I only received unemployment for about 1 month of that time and had to move to a new apartment paying $400 more for rent per month. I have no idea how but I’ve been making it and haven’t been late on rent or any of my bills for that matter once! Well not at all except the time I forgot to pay my wifi lol.
Man… I do get disappointed in myself but when I just read that last paragraph;
I am actually extremely proud of my lady hustle.
So what am I doing for money then..
My main, most consistent source income is an office job, part time, $20/hour. This job my take home is typically $480/wk and then I have a woman I work with who provides care givers/personal assistants. My current gig with her is $16/hr and is that is also very, very part-time, usually between 2-4 hours per week and I get reimbursement for mileage. Then to make up the rest of my money, I do various grocery delivery apps or whatever comes up.. music video, sewing gig, running errands, etc.
Okay so here is the break down of the first week of March’s earnings.
Office: $420 (I was working less hours for a training course)
Go Puff: $469.05 (I did about 20 hours)
Instacart: $243.55 (hours are not accurate because I was doing too many apps at a time and had a massive delay)
Shipt: $85.14
And this give us a whopping total of: $1217.74
That was decent and much more than I typically do in a week unless someone calls me up for a special event or something and I must say ya girl is exhausted after all that work. I literally worked every day except for Monday.
